oh, yeah, I saw this on a TV show a couple weeks ago, absolutely amazing! I was going to post it, but from what the tv show said about how many hits it had already gotten on YouTube, I figured everyone had already seen it. Then, of course I started seeing people talking about it.
I am still shocked that those lions hadn't dug into that baby after that amount of time. The croc was just ridiculous. the whole thing was ridiculous! Every time you think it can't get more ridiculous it does!
The funny thing was when they interviewed actual wildlife photographers who had traveled all over for decades and never witnessed anything close to this, yet this was just some lucky middle aged guy who barely knew how to operate his new video camera.
I hadn't seen the entire thing though till now. Awesome.
I was about to tell you that you ruined my entire weekend.... no entire year!...... until.... until........... that was absolutely amazing. AMAZING! Now I can go on with a big smile on my face instead of big tears.
Apparently buffalo are really tough. After you watch the video, some other related videos come up on the bottom, and there is one where this group of lions gnaws on a calf for about 10 minutes until his mama and her friends come get him, and he gets up, a bit bloodied but with all his limbs.
I just saw this on TV the other week! It blows me away everytime I see it!!
I saw an interview with the guy who took the video. He had just won the camera at a business party and was still trying to figure out how to use the thing. There was another guy on the safari with him that contacted him later to see if he could have a copy of the video to show a friend. He showed his friend by posting it on YouTube and within a couple days the number of views had skyrocketed. So he contacted the owner of the video again and told him that they might have an opportunity to make some money...so they sold it to National Geographic and apparently it's going to be aired on their show sometime this fall. Crazy.
